Materials Available
The process of manufacturing stud bolts involves various materials depending on their applications, strength, heat resistance, and corrosion properties. These materials include carbon steel (ASTM A193 B7 & B7M) with excellent strength for general industrial purposes and stainless steel (grades 304, 316, and 316L) with excellent corrosion properties. In harsh working conditions, alloy steel is used for high-temperature applications due to its excellent properties in resisting extreme heat and pressure.
In critical working conditions, duplex and super duplex steels are used due to their excellent properties of strength and corrosion resistance. In such harsh working conditions, nickel-based materials such as Inconel, Monel, and Hastelloy are used. In addition, materials such as zinc coating, hot dip galvanizing, PTFE coating, and black oxide are used to enhance the properties of stud bolts.
